Former African football player Mohammad Farah has died while fighting against COVID 19. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Somali Football Federation (SFF) have announced that former Somali legend player Abdulkadir Mohammed Farah was infected with the Coron virus, and has passed away.

Mohammad Farah died on Tuesday at Northwest London Hospital. Last week Mohammad Farah was found positive in the coronavirus test. He was 59 years old and has been working as an advisor to the Youth and Sports Minister of Somalia. African football and Somalia's football fraternity have mourned Mohammed Farah's death and advised everyone to stay safe.

Mohammad Farah was born on 15 February 1961 in the city of Beledweyne, 342 kilometers from the capital Mogadishu. Farah's football career began in 1976 when he played in the National School Football tournament. He was promoted at the regional level, representing his home-bound field at the 1979 regional football tournament. The regional tournament became a platform for him to showcase his talent and from there he got a place at the Batroolka Football Club, where he had a brilliant playing career till the late 1980s.
