FIFA World Cup Qualifier 2022: India to Face Qatar on October 8

The Indian football team, which is trying to make a place in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, will now play in the next qualifier match in October. The Indian football team's qualifying round of the FIFA World Cup 2022 against the Asian champions Qatar will now take place on October 8. India last played against Qatar in September last year. The result of this match was 0–0. Earlier, it was considered a good comeback for the team after losing 1-2 to Oman.

According to the new dates announced by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) with world body FIFA, the Indian team will play matches against Bangladesh on November 12 and against Afghanistan on November 17. The FIFA World Cup and the 2023 Asian Cup qualifiers in China were scheduled to be held between March and June but were postponed due to Corona.

India is in Group E in the qualifier table with teams from Qatar, Oman, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. The Indian team is currently in fourth place with 3 draws and two defeats. Qatar's team has won four of their 5 matches. The last match played with the Indian team was on par, this is the only match in which Qatar has not won.
