Delhi Reports 79 COVID-19 Cases, Positivity Rate Stands at 0.11%

In Delhi, 79 fresh cases of coronavirus infection were reported in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate in the city remained below 1 percent for the past few weeks. In addition, 154 patients have recovered, while 4 people died in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number tally has now increased to 14.34 lakh. Out of these, 14.08 lakh people have been cured and 25,001 have died. Currently, there are 833 patients, who are undergoing treatment in Delhi. Meanwhile, the positivity rate has also dipped to 0.11 percent.

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday launched a scheme and an online portal to provide financial assistance to families who lost their loved ones to Covid-19 and asked officials not to find faults in their claim applications.

More than 34,000 cases reported in India:

India has been witnessing a gradual decrease in daily coronavirus cases. According to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry, India reported 34,703 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative count of the cases to 3,06,19,932. With 553 deaths in the last 24 hours, the death toll has increased to 4,03,281.

The country also witnessed 51,864 recoveries in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative recoveries to 2,97,52,294. With this, the country's recovery rate has increased to 97.17%. On the other hand, India's mortality rate stands at 1.32 %. There has been a steady decline in active cases of coronavirus in the country. According to the latest data of the Union Health Ministry, in the last 24 hours, the active cases in the country have been reduced by 17,714. Meanwhile, the number of active cases in the country stands at 4,64,357. The active cases rate in India stands at 1.52 %.
