Coronavirus: UP Government Fixed Rate List for Covid- 19 Tests in Private Path Lab

Uttar Pradesh Health Department has issued instructions regarding the investigation of corona virus infection in private laboratories. It states that a private lab approved by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) can charge a maximum of Rs 1,500 for the first test. The ICMR has fixed a maximum rate of Rs 1,500 for the first inquiry and a maximum of Rs 3,000 for the second investigation.

The government order states that only those private laboratories that have been approved by ICMR for testing of Covid-19 can carry out this test. According to the order issued by UP Chief Secretary (Health) Amit Mohan Prasad, if a person undergoes first screening to detect infection of Covid-19, then he will have to pay Rs 1,500 and if that person is found infected in the test, then he will get second, a maximum of Rs 3,000 will have to be paid for phase-checking.

According to this instruction, if the infection is detected in the first investigation and a second test is required for confirmation, then person will have to spend a maximum of Rs 4,500 for both the investigations.
