Coronavirus: Sunil Gavaskar Donates Rs. 35 Lakhs to PM Cares Fund, Rs. 24 Lakhs to CM Relief Fund

Many sports personalities are coming forward to donate against the increasing outbreak of Coronavirus. In such a situation, former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar donated 59 lakh rupees. This was revealed by former cricketer Amol Majumdar. He said that Gavaskar has donated Rs 35 lakh to the PM Cares Fund and Rs 24 lakh to the Maharashtra Chief Minister Relief Fund. To this Sunil's son, Rohan replied, "Because he (Sunil) has scored 35 centuries for the country and 24 for Mumbai."

Sunil has scored 10,122 runs in 125 Tests. During this, he scored 34 centuries and 45 fifties. The former captain had scored 3092 runs in 108 ODIs with the help of 1 century and 27 half-centuries. Apart from this, he scored 25834 runs in 348 first-class matches with the help of 81 centuries. He was also a member of the 1983 World Cup-winning Indian team.

Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara has also donated. He thanked all the front-line warriors, including doctors, paramedical staff and police fighting the epidemic. He tweeted, "My family and I have contributed to PM CARES Fund and Gujarat CM Relief Fund and hope you do too." Apart from this, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Sourav Ganguly Many sports personalities including Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, Gautam Gambhir, Harbhajan Singh have also extended their help.
