Coronavirus: Shoaib Akhtar Proposes to Organize ODI Series Between India and Pakistan to Raise Funds

Former Pakistan cricket team fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar made a suggestion that a three-match ODI series should be held between India and Pakistan and the funds that will be collected from it can be used by both countries in the fight against the COVID 19 pandemic. No full series has been organized between the two countries since 2007. The two countries played each other only in the ICC tournament and the Asia Cup.

Shoaib Akhtar said, "In this odd situation I want to propose a series of three matches in which people of both countries will not be disturbed by the result of the match. We will be happy if Virat scores a century and you guys will be happy if Babar Azam plays a century. In this match, both teams will be winners irrespective of the outcome on the field. In these games, we will get a lot of viewers and after a long time, for the first time, both countries will play a series against each other. The funds collected from these matches can be divided equally between the two countries which can be used in the fight against Corona."

Shoaib Akhtar said, 'There is a lockdown in view of the spread of Coronavirus in both the countries at this time and this series should be organized when the situation gets a little better.' Although he said that the sooner it is organized, the better it will be. Right now everyone is in their respective homes and because of this, a large number of people will see it. As the situation improves, these matches can be organized in a neutral venue such as Dubai. For this, matches can be organized using chartered flights.

He said that this would also increase the chances of holding a bilateral series between the two countries and relations would improve. He said that both countries should help each other in this odd situation. I have made only one proposal on my behalf, but it depends on both countries whether this will happen or not.
