Coronavirus: PM Modi Tweeted and Thanked Indian Sports Personalities for their Support

Right now, the whole world is in the grip of coronavirus and due to this virus, more than 43,000 people have lost their lives in the world so far. The situation is very bad all over the world at this time and in India too, the number of people suffering from corona and dying from it is increasing.

India currently has been put into a 21-day lockdown. At present, every effort is being made by the government to save the people of the country from the outbreak of the Corona epidemic. Last week, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, set up a Special Relief Fund and urged people to cooperate to the best of their ability in the ongoing fight against Corona.

Following this PM's appeal, players associated with many sports have contributed to the PM Cares Fund which includes Indian cricket team opener batsman Rohit Sharma, shooter Isha Singh, para high jumper Sharad Kumar and women cricketer Mithali Raj. All of them, according to their capacity, contributed their own support to the PM Cares Fund. After this, PM Modi thanked them all.

PM Modi tweeted and wrote that I am very happy that our hard-working sportspersons have come forward in the fight against Coronavirus and have given their support. I thank Rohit Sharma, Mithali Raj, Isha Singh, and Sharad Kumar.

Let us tell you that Rohit Sharma has contributed Rs. 45 lakhs to the PM Cares Fund. Apart from Rohit, Mithali Raj has contributed 5 lakhs in the PM Cares Fund and the same in Telangana Relief Fund. Among the Indian cricketers, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Sachin Tendulkar, Saurabh Ganguly and many other cricketers have also given their support for this cause.
