Clapping and Lighting ‘Diya’ Will Not Solve the Problem: Rahul Gandhi

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday used a sarcasm tone at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that there is not enough investigation of corona in India and in such a situation, clapping and lighting torches will not solve the problem. Gandhi tweeted, sharing a graph linking the statistics of the corona investigation in several major countries of the world and India, " India is not doing enough investigation to fight Covid-19 ".

Without naming the Prime Minister, he said tauntingly, "The problem will not be solved by people clapping and lighting lamps." Underlining the importance of asking the citizens to stand on the balcony of their homes on Sunday, April 5, to lit a candle, lamp, torch or mobile flashlight for nine minutes.

The number of confirmed cases in India is nearing 3,000 and includes 68 deaths and 184 recoveries. In comparison, coronavirus has claimed more than 58,000 lives across the globe while infecting over 1 million people. On April 4, deaths of Covid-19 patients were reported from Karnataka, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, new confirmed cases have been reported from Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Gujrat, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jammu, Assam, and Chhattisgarh.
