The maximum number of new cases of corona virus has been reported in Jammu and Kashmir in a single day, as on Sunday, reports of corona infection screening of 620 people came positive and this is the first time that such a large number of infected people have been detected in a single day. With this, the number of Covid-19 patients in this union territory has crossed 4,000 figure. In a statement issued by the Information and Public Relations Department, it was stated that out of 620 new cases, 37 are from Jammu division and 583 are from Kashmir division, with this the total number of virus-infected individuals increased to 4,087.

So far, 41 people have died due to corona infection in the state and at the same time, 1,216 patients have also recovered. The number of active corona cases in the state now stands at 2,830 and of this, 684 cases are from Jammu division and 2,146 from Kashmir division. Whereas, three more people died due to Covid-19 infection on Saturday, officials said two deaths occurred in the Kashmir Valley, while one death occurred in the Jammu region. Officials further said that a 70 year old man from South Kashmir's Shopian district died on Saturday at the Heart Disease Hospital.
