3 Members of South African Women’s Team Tests Positive for Coronavirus

Three members of the South African women's cricket team have tested positive for COVID-19 before the training camp for the proposed England tour. Three members including support staff and the remaining two players have been ruled out from the camp by Cricket South Africa (CSA). The team's training camp is scheduled to begin in Pretoria from July 27.

Positive members will remain in isolation for 10 days:

The statement issued by CSA states that we can confirm that the corona report of three team members has come positive. Players and support staff found infected will now have to go into self-isolation for 10 days and will no longer be part of the training camp.

Treatment will be done under the supervision of doctors:

The CSA further noted that all three members have mild symptoms of coronavirus. Our medical team is treating them. They will remain under the supervision of doctors under the Coronavirus Protocol.

CSA conducted test for 34 players and support staff:

The South Africa Cricket Board says that the players' return after recovery will be applicable under the protocol of our medical committee. The board conducted the corona test of 34 players and support staff before the tour of England.

Second phase of training will start from 16 August:

The players of the South Africa women's team will undergo individual training till 14 August. This will be followed by a two-week training camp, which will start from August 16. Even before this camp, players and support staff will have to go through the second round of corona test.

South Africa's women's team played last match in March:

The South African women's team had played their last match in the T20 World Cup in March this year. The team then lost to Australia in the semi-finals. South Africa was scheduled to play the home series against Australia in June, which was postponed due to Corona.
