Due to the increasing case of corona infection and Omicron in the country's capital Delhi, the Arvind Kejriwal government has decided to once again impose a night curfew from Monday. According to Delhi government officials, if the infection rate remains at 0.55 percent for two consecutive days, night curfew will start under a four-stage Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). This night curfew in Delhi will be effective from 11 pm to 5 am. Apart from this, it has also been decided to impose night curfew in Karnataka for the next 10 days from December 28. At the same time, experts have also recommended a night curfew in Kolkata.

This night curfew in the national capital will be effective from 11 pm to 5 am. On Sunday, 290 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported in Delhi, which is the highest since June 10. Apart from this, one person also died due to corona infection in Delhi. Here the infection rate of corona increased to 0.55 percent.
Number of patients under treatment are 1,103 in Delhi
Under the GRAP, if the infection rate remains at 0.5 percent for two days in a row, a 'yellow' alert will apply, under which a number of restrictions are imposed. According to the sources, there is usually a small number of tests on Sundays, which can affect the infection rate. Nevertheless, the night curfew will run from 11 pm to 5 am on Monday. On 10 June 2021, 305 cases of infection and 44 deaths were reported in Delhi. The total number of people found infected with the corona virus in Delhi is now 14,43,352 while the number of dead has gone up to 25,105. The number of patients under treatment are 1,103.
Experts recommended imposing restrictions in Kolkata
Apart from this, experts have advised the Mamata Banerjee government to impose restrictions in view of the huge crowd gathered at the busy Park Street at midnight to celebrate Christmas in West Bengal's capital Kolkata. He has warned that if the crowd continues to gather in this way, there is a possibility of an increase in corona cases and the risk of Omicron increasing.
State officials were also praised for managing the crowd during Durga Puja two months ago, but they should not have reduced their security procedures over the Christmas season. Dr Sanjeev Bandyopadhyay, Associate Professor, Burdwan Medical College said, ' On the night of December 24, it seems that the administration has been lax in maintaining vigil. In view of this, a strict restriction should be imposed, as there is a possibility of increase in new cases of corona along with Omicron.

On the other hand, with the spurt in new cases of Omicron and Corona, the Karnataka government has decided to impose night curfew for 10 days from December 28. This will be applicable from 10 pm to 5 am. State Health Minister K Sudhakar said the government has also announced some restrictions on New Year celebrations amid the growing threat from Omicron. He said that from December 28, night curfew will be imposed by invoking Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure for 10 days from 10 pm to 5 am.
