India’s First Step of Retaliation against China, Ban on Chinese Companies in Telecom Sector

Akash Singh

How India will take revenge for the bloody conflict with China over the border dispute is a matter of future, but with immediate effect, preparations have been made to financially injure China.  On Wednesday, it has been decided at the government level that Chinese companies will be kept away from setting up 4G technology of BSNL, a company working under the Ministry of Telecom.  According to highly placed sources, the communication ministry has instructed BSNL.  It has also been decided to reverse the tender issued in this direction.  It is clear that Chinese companies will now be excluded.

Efforts made to revive BSNL:

Several efforts are being made by the Department of Communications these days to revive BSNL.  The establishment of BSNL's 4G service is one of them.  The tender process for setting up 4G service is underway.  According to sources, the tender has been directed to re-issue the tender with new rules to stop Chinese companies.  In view of the strict attitude of the Indian government regarding Chinese equipment, now there is no possibility of Chinese companies getting melted in the tender of 5G technology.  This will be a big loss for China.

Telecom Companies asked to reduce their dependence on products made by Chinese companies:

According to ministry sources, the Department of Communications is also seriously considering reducing dependence on China in the field of mobile services.  That is why private companies in the telecom sector have also been asked to reduce their dependence on products made by Chinese companies.  Private telecom companies are using Chinese devices in mobile service-connected devices.  It is also being told that the security check of Chinese equipment can now be very strict.  In fact, China's equipment has been questioned many times.
