China and Pakistan Pulls Out of ISSF Shooting World Cup to be Held in India

Akash Singh

China and Pakistan have pulled out of the ISSF World Cup to be held in New Delhi in March. It was unlikely that the Ministry of External Affairs and Health Ministry would have granted visas to Chinese players for the tournament due to coronavirus. However, China has already overcome the difficulties of the organizers by withdrawing its name. Pakistan will also not send its shooters in this shooting World Cup. Regarding China's move, Indian National Rifle Association President Raninder Singh said that China's decision to withdraw from the competition is entirely their own. We have nothing to do with this.

He said that I think it is a good decision. He said that although other arrangements were made on our behalf, including hotel bookings for Chinese players. At the same time, Pakistan players will not come to Delhi. Earlier, when the last shooting World Cup was held in India, the Indian government did not give visas to Pakistani players.

Javed Lodhi, executive vice-president of the National Rifle Association of Pakistan said that three of our shooters have qualified for the Tokyo Olympics and we are focusing on their coaching. We have found a coach for them in Germany, but he will be able to start training from March itself. So we are not sending our players to the World Cup happening in India.
