The Third Phase of ‘Vande Bharat’ Mission Starts, Air India Sold 22000 Tickets in Just 15 Hours

The third phase of the Vande Bharat Mission launched by the government to bring back the stranded Indians to the country has started, whereas for the third phase, Air India started booking tickets from 5 pm on Friday. It should be noted that the people trapped or living abroad due to Corona virus are so eager to return India that the site crashed for a while due to the simultaneous millions of people using the Air India website.

It is worth mentioning that due to Corona virus, international flights are currently suspended worldwide, whereas India is operating special flights in a phased manner under the Vande Bharat Mission to bring back its citizens stranded in other countries, whereas Air India has started booking tickets for selected cities of US, Canada, UK and Europe on Friday as a part of the third phase of the Vande Bharat Mission. As soon as the booking started, there was a huge demand from the passengers and within the first two hours the website was visited by 60 million people.

Air India tweeted on Saturday that under the third phase of the Vande Bharat Mission, booking of tickets for selected destinations in the US, Canada, United Kingdom and Europe started from 5 pm on Friday evening. Our website showed 6-7 times more traffic and a total of 22,000 tickets were sold till 8 am Saturday.

Under the Vande Bharat Mission, Air India and its partner Air India Express started operating special international flights from May 7 for the return of Indian nationals. The first phase ran from May 7 to May 16, followed by the second phase between May 7 and June 1, whereas, the Air India Group operated 423 flights to Kula and 58,867 Indian nationals were brought back to the country.
