Stock Market Update: Sensex made history crossing 60000 and Nifty 17900

On Friday, the last day of the week, the market opened strongly. Sensex has created new history as soon as the market opens. Sensex opened above 60100 for the first time. The market is trading with great momentum right now. Currently, Sensex is trading up 350 points at 60,200 and Nifty is up 80 points at 17,900.

The market capitalisation of BSE-listed companies reached an all-time high of 261.73 lakh crore on Thursday, helped by a massive rally in the equities where the benchmark Sensex zoomed 958 points to end at a fresh lifetime peak.

Out of 30 stocks of Sensex, 19 shares are seen trading with gains and 11 shares with weakness. In which the shares of Infosys, HCL Tech, and TCS are up by more than 1%, while the share of Tata Steel is seeing a decline of about 1%.

NSE is trading with a gain of more than 2%

IT stocks are taking flight in the market. IT Index on NSE is trading with a gain of more than 2%. L&T's stock is up more than 6% in the index. Mphasis share is up 4% and Wipro's share is up more than 2%.

2,438 shares are being traded on BSE. In which 1,572 shares are seen rising and 753 shares are seen trading in the red mark. With this, the total market cap of companies listed on BSE has crossed Rs 262 lakh crore. Earlier, the Sensex climbed 958 points to 59,885 and the Nifty climbed 276 points to close at 17,823.

US stock market

Earlier, there was a boom in the US stock market. The Dow Jones climbed 1.48% to end at 34,764. The Nasdaq gained 1.04% to 15,052 and the S&P 500 climbed 1.21% to 4,448.
