Sensex Jumped 350 Points to Reach Record High of 40606, Nifty Closed to 12000

The Sensex rose more than 350 points at one time to a new high of 40,606.91 during the afternoon trade on strong buying in the banking, metal and real estate companies. Earlier on Monday, October 4, the Sensex touched the highest upper level of 40,483.21. Similarly, the National Stock Exchange's Nifty also reached near 12,000 mark during this period. This level has been seen after five months. The Nifty was seen to be trading at a height of 11,998.50 points with a gain of 81.30 points, or 0.68 percent.

BSE's 30-share index Sensex has closed 221.55 points, or 0.55 per cent, at 40,469.78 today. At the same time, the 50-share index of NSE has managed to close at 11,961 with a gain of 43.80 points i.e. 0.37 per cent.

During today's trading, except for the fall in media, PSU bank and auto stocks, the rest of the Nifty index closed at a rapid pace. Business in the realty sector has closed with a rise of 2.26 per cent and in private banks, it has closed with a rise of 1.55 per cent. At the same time, Bank Nifty managed to close with a gain of 1.33 percent.

Condition of nifty shares

During today's trading, 24 out of 50 stocks of the Nifty closed at a rapid pace and 25 stocks closed in the red mark of decline. One of the shares which closed with flat business is Vedanta Limited. Among the rising stocks, Cipla 3.13 per cent, ICICI Bank 2.35 per cent, Infosys 2.21 per cent, HDFC 1.77 per cent and Dr. Reddy's Labs 1.69 per cent, with the close of trading.

Among the falling stocks of the Nifty, Titan shares have closed with a fall of over 10 per cent. Bharti Airtel closed down by 3.33 per cent, Bajaj Finserv 1.25 per cent, Reliance Industries 1.18 per cent and Maruti Suzuki 1.14 per cent.
