In our country, the base price of petrol and diesel is still close to 33 rupees. But the central and state governments impose tax on it and reach it at 100 rupees. On this, the central government is charging excise duty of Rs 33. After this, the state governments charge VAT and cess on their own, after which their price has increased up to 3 times from the base price. In such a situation, it is not possible to reduce the price of petrol without giving relief in tax.

The average price of petrol in the world is Rs 84.83 / liter

According to the Indian rupee, the average price per liter of petrol in the world is 84.83 rupees. The cheapest petrol in India is Rs 85.23 in Itanagar, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh. Its price in Delhi is 91.80 rupees a liter, which means petrol is costlier than the world average price in India.
