The company is telling the powder to be safe

The company itself researched its powder and claimed that its baby talcum powder is safe and does not cause cancer. J&J said Thursday that it has made a "commercial decision" to use cornstarch instead of talcum powder for all of its baby powder products after assessing it.

The company is being forced to pay

In the court filing, J&J's lawyer stated that the company has paid more than $1 billion (about Rs 7968 crore) in the last five years for litigation. According to the company's bankruptcy filing, J&J has been forced to pay around $3.5 billion (Rs 28 thousand crores) so far to settle settlement matters.
