NMP money will be invested in other schemes

On the National Monetization Pipeline (NMP) scheme, the government is saying that under this scheme, it wants to monetize those properties, on which a lot has been spent, but full income is not being generated from them. Due to monetization, their maintenance will be done properly and its full cost will be recovered and money can be invested in other schemes benefiting the economy.

Assets will not be sold, will be given on lease

The Finance Minister has recently announced the National Monetization Pipeline (NMP) to raise Rs 6 lakh crore in four years till the financial year 2022-25. Through this, government assets will be monetized in infrastructure sectors like railways, electricity to roads. They will not be sold but will be given on lease to the private sector for a fixed period of time. In return, the government will get a lumb sum amount, which can be spent on other infrastructure schemes.
