The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), an association of traders, has demanded a complete ban on the festive season sale of e-commerce companies. The organization has written a revised FDI policy, 2016 in 2018, in a letter to Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. CAIT has accused these e-commerce companies of selling products at very cheap prices and with huge discounts.

CAIT has even demanded a ban on the sale of e-commerce companies. At the same time, it has been said that there should be an inquiry into how these companies are violating FDI rules.

The organization's national general secretary Praveen Khandelwal said that under the revised FDI policy, it is clearly written that these e-commerce are online marketplaces and they can only do business to business. He said that these companies cannot sell goods directly to the consumer.

In a letter to Goel on Friday, CAIT said that e-commerce companies operating as marketplaces under the FDI policy will not affect the price of goods or services in any way and will maintain the level playing field of all. It is said that e-commerce companies are giving 10 to 80 percent discount. In this way, they are not only affecting the prices but also ignoring the talk about the level playing field.
