Christchurch Shooting: Air Asia CEO Tony Fernandes deleted his Facebook account

Kuala Lumpur: AirAsia Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tony Fernandez has deleted his Facebook account after the firing incident in two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, after coming to live on Facebook. He said that Facebook needs to be cleaned and not just think about money. According to CNN, Fernandes announced his decision on Sunday in several tweets. Fernandes has 6.7 million followers on Facebook.

In a tweet, he said, "The amount of hatred spread on social media sometimes gets higher than good ones." He said, "Facebook could try and try to stop such cases." On March 15, the gunman had made a live video of the massacre done in two mosques for about 17 minutes to Facebook live.

The New Zealand Police had warned Facebook about the live stream, and Facebook said that it immediately deleted the account of the gunman and the video. But Fernandez is not enough for this. Although he said that he is a fan of social media. He has deactivated his Facebook account due to the live stream.

He tweeted, "This is a very good platform for communication." On Saturday, Facebook said that he had deleted 15 lakh videos of the Christchurch attack. This incident is being condemned in the whole world.
