The Indian subsidiary of Denmark's beer producer Carlsberg is accused of bribing Indian officials to carry out its work. This has been claimed in a report published in the Danish newspaper Berlingske. According to the news, during the 18 months, the company has given bribes to extract work from the officials associated with the permit of Excise, Regulation, Brewery. However, Carlsberg has denied these allegations and said that Indian operations are being audited.

The company has said that it has started an in-depth audit in the Indian subsidiary after the allegations surfaced. According to the allegations, bribes were given to the officials so that the regulatory process is completed quickly and the company has ease of manufacturing. Between 2015 and 2016, more than 200 payments were made to officers, according to the news of Burlingske. Not only this, this person on the board of Carlsberg also approved this payment. The newspaper said that many sources in the company have confirmed this news.

Carlsberg Asia's director of corporate affairs, Steve Deng, told our associate publication Business Today that the matter has come to the fore in 2017. But this claim has been made by an employee who has been dismissed and he says that he was unfairly dismissed. The employee had demanded $ 2 million from the company and threatened that if he was not given money, he would go to the media.

Deng said, 'We immediately got it investigated by a reputable law firm which also included a leading international auditor. On investigation, it was found that the dismissal of the employee was done properly and it is impossible to confirm the claims of payment made. When we asked for more evidence about this, that employee again demanded 2 million dollars.

Company is investigating
