British Airways Pilots on Strike, all Flights Cancelled

London: British Airways said on Monday that on the first day of the pilots' strike it was obliged to cancel almost all its flights from all UK airports. In a statement issued here, British Airways said, 'Despite many months of trying to resolve the pay dispute with the pilots, we are very sorry for this situation.'

The airline has said that it is still ready to negotiate with the British Airline Pilots Association (BALPA). The airline has said, "Unfortunately we have not been able to get any information from BALPA about which pilots will be on strike, we are not in a position to tell how many pilots will come to work and the ability to fly that aircraft Keep it. That is why in such a situation we have no option left and we are canceling almost 100 percent flights. '

Around 4300 pilots of British airline British Airways have been embroiled in the salary dispute for the last nine months. Due to his strike, the travel program of more than three lakh people can go awry. The pilots can continue their strike on Tuesday as well and have threatened to strike for a day and 27 September.

Even after this, if the dispute escalates, they may strike during the winter holidays as well. Pilots' organization BALPA had earlier rejected the airline's proposal of an 11.5 per cent wage increase in three years presented in July.
