US antitrust regulators have separated oversight of Amazon.com Inc and Alphabet Inc's Google, putting Amazon under the watch of the Federal Trade Commission and Google under the Justice Department, the Washington Post said on Saturday. 

Amazon could face elevated antitrust examination under another understanding between US controllers which puts the online business mammoth under the watch of the exchange commission, the paper announced, referring to individuals acquainted with the issue.

The improvement is the aftereffect of the FTC and Justice division unobtrusively isolating up rivalry oversight on both of the American tech goliaths, Amazon and Google, the paper said including that the FTC's arrangements for Amazon and the Justice Department's enthusiasm for Google were not quickly clear.

The news comes after Reuters and other media wrote about Friday that the Department is setting up an examination concerning Google so as to learn whether the organization overstepped antitrust law in working its online organizations.

Google said it had no remark on the report while Amazon, the FTC and Justice Department did not promptly react to demands for input on the report.
