After Mother Dairy, Amul took Decision on Milk Prices, Parag will Consider Next Week

New Delhi: Major dairy company Amul will not Increase the price of its cow's milk, while Parag Milk Foods will look into the matter next week. However, it is worth mentioning here that the price of cow milk of Amul is already Rs 44 and the price of cow milk of Parag milk is Rs 48 per liter. On Thursday, Mother Dairy, the premier milk supplier, raised the price of cow's milk by Rs 2 to Rs 44 per liter in Delhi-NCR.

The company is paying farmers more for the purchase of raw milk. However, Mother Dairy did not increase the price of other milk. "There are no plans to raise the prices of cow's milk," said RS Sodhi, managing director of the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), a company that markets milk and milk products under the Amul brand.

Amul's cow milk is already being sold at Rs 44 per liter. Devendra Shah, president of Parag Milk Foods, said the company would consider the issue next week. He said, 'Our cow milk price is already four rupees per liter more, that is, 48 ​​rupees per liter.' Shah said states like Maharashtra and Karnataka have received good rains, so the supply situation of milk will improve.

Mother Dairy spokesperson said that in the last two-three months, the price of raw milk of cow has increased from Rs 2.50 to Rs 3 per liter. The spokesman said, "Therefore, we are compelled to raise the consumer prices of cow's milk." Mother Dairy supplies about 3 million liters of milk, of which eight lakh liters of cow milk is marketed in Delhi-NCR.

Parag Milk sells 80,000 liters of cow milk per day in the Delhi-NCR region under the Govardhan brand. Mumbai-based Parag Milk acquired the Sonipat plant in April last year and started commercial operations in August to expand its footprint in North and Northeast India.
