Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is going to provide mobile network facilities to the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel deployed on the western border of India-Pakistan. BSNL will soon install new mobile towers in the border areas. Presently BSF personnel deployed in border areas find it very difficult to talk to their families in the absence of mobile network. This decision of BSNL will benefit the BSF personnel stationed on the international border adjoining Jaisalmer, Barmer and Sriganganagar districts.

Rameshchandra Vyas of BSNL said that the BSF officials were asked to identify places where they would have the facility and be fit for security, mobile towers would be installed there. He said that the soldiers posted on the border have a lot of difficulty in talking to their families. Keeping this in mind, BSNL has held discussions with BSF officials. Mobile towers will be erected at the locations stated by BSF officials. He said that till the mobile towers are not installed, alternatively, BSNL's wing service can provide the facility to the soldiers to talk to their families.

Wing services provide services through the wifi of any network. A virtual number will be issued in it. In this regard, BSF officials have assured that soon after completing the action related to the wing service, it can be started as an experiment in any area of the border areas. People will get relief from the installation of towers in the border areas of Rajasthan. It is worth mentioning that due to security reasons, extreme caution is used in the means of communication on the border.
