On Monday, voting will be held in 55 seats in 9 districts of Uttar Pradesh. The second phase of elections can prove to be very important for the BJP and SP plus alliance. While the BJP had won 38 out of 55 seats in 2017, the SP and Congress alliance also performed the best in the same region, securing 17 seats whereas the account of BSP and RLD was not opened. This time, where SP, RLD and Mahan Dal are together, Congress is contesting alone.

In the second phase, voting will be held in 55 assembly seats of Saharanpur, Rampur, Bareilly, Moradabad, Amroha, Sambhal, Bijnor, Budaun and Shahjahanpur. In these 9 districts, the Muslim voter is in a decisive role in Rampur, Moradabad, Amroha, Bareilly, Bijnor, Sambhal and Budaun. Rampur and Moradabad have more than 50 percent Muslim population while other districts also have a 20-40 percent Muslim population. Apart from Muslims, Jat voters are also dominant in these 9 districts. And because of this equation, the SP-RLD alliance is expecting a big victory in this area. On the other hand, it will not be easy for the BJP to perform in the new equation.

Rampur Sadar seat will be the most eye in the second phase of elections

Rampur Sadar seat will be the most eye in the second phase of elections from where Rampur MP and veteran SP leader Azam Khan is contesting. He is presently lodged in Sitapur Jail. Akash Saxena of BJP is against him who has played an important role in gathering evidence and testifying against Azam Khan. Apart from this, Azam Khan's son Abdullah Khan is also in the fray.
