Responding to on-going protests after the death of African-American George Floyd, the United Nations Spokesperson Antonio Guterres on Monday, has urges Americans to protest peacefully. He said that the authorities should exercise restraint while taking action against those protesting in the US. According to the sources, the UN Secretary-General has given the message that the protesters' complaints should be heard peacefully, but the protesters should also understand and protest their demonstrations peacefully. UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said that in response, officials should also exercise restraint.

Along with this, he said that there is a need to investigate the violence done by the police. The police forces around the world need adequate human rights training and need to work in social and psychological support. So, that they can do their work properly in terms of protecting the community.

The U.N. spokesman also gave his statement on the long-standing discrimination against black citizens in America. He said, "United States is just like any other country in the world. Diversity is also prosperity here. So there is no danger here, but the success of diverse societies in any country requires huge investment in social cohesion. It is important in all countries to eliminate potential areas of inequality, discrimination, and provide opportunities to all."
