America Apologizes for the Loss of Mahatma Gandhi’s Statue in Washington

US Ambassador Ken Juster has apologized for the damage caused to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Washington. According to news agency ANI, Ken Juster said, "We are ashamed of the incident of abuse in Washington DC with the statue of Mahatma Gandhi and we apologize for that."

The agency has informed that the United States Park Police has started an investigation into the case. A team of Metropolitan Police officers visited the scene on Wednesday and are investigating, efforts are being made to clean the statue as soon as possible.

Let us tell you that some people involved in the #blacklivesmatter demonstration in the US capital Washington DC damaged the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. Demonstrations have been going on in the US for days after the death of African-American man George Floyd. In many places, these demonstrations have turned violent and there have been reports of sabotage by protesters.
