Another hero of the Indian Air Force has been martyred. Fighter plane MiG-21 has once again become a victim of the accident. Along with the aircraft, hero of Indian Air Force of the country was also martyred. The pilot of the aircraft, Wing Commander Harshit Sinha, was martyred. The accident happened near Jaisalmer in Rajasthan.

For the first time in 1964, MiG 21 was inducted into Indian Air Force as a supersonic fighter jet. Since that time it has remained a part of the Indian Air Force. MiG-21 has given incredible performance on many fronts including the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971, Kargil war of 1999. However, in terms of the modern era, it has become quite old now. Russia stopped making it in 1985 itself. But it is still being used in India.

In the last 60 years, more than 400 MiG-21 aircraft have been victims of accidents. More than 200 pilots have lost their lives in these accidents.
