Russian President Vladimir Putin has made a significant announcement amidst the war with Ukraine. He stated that Russia is rapidly working on developing a vaccine for the world's most dangerous incurable disease i.e. Cancer.

President Putin of Russia revealed that scientists are working on it and they are in the final stages. In one of his speeches, the President said, "We are very close to developing a vaccine for the so-called cancer and new generation immunomodulatory drugs."

President Putin made this announcement during his address at the Moscow Forum. During the speech, Putin said, "I hope that the vaccine will soon be used effectively in the treatment of people."

However, Putin did not specify how the proposed vaccine would be used in cancer treatment. Several countries and companies are working on cancer vaccines.

In the past year, the UK government partnered with BioNTech, a Germany-based company, to commence clinical trials aimed at personalized cancer treatments. Their goal is to enroll 10,000 patients by 2030.

Russia was the First to Develop COVID-19 Vaccine

Russia was the first to develop a vaccine against COVID-19 when the whole world was gripped by the pandemic and awaiting a vaccine.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Russia developed its own Sputnik V vaccine to combat COVID-19. It was also sold to several countries.

Current Vaccines for Cancer

According to the World Health Organization, there are currently six licensed vaccines against human papillomavirus (HPV), which are responsible for several cancers including cervical cancer. Additionally, there are vaccines available against hepatitis B (HBV), which can cause liver cancer.
