According to rescue workers, the area predominantly consists of traditional earthen structures, which have been severely damaged by the earthquake.

This has posed significant challenges in identifying and reaching survivors, as these buildings have collapsed or suffered extensive damage.

The earthquake has had its most profound impact in the mountainous village of Tafeghaghte, located approximately 60 kilometres from Marrakesh.

Nearly every structure in the village has been destroyed. Civilian rescue teams, along with Moroccan military personnel, are tirelessly searching for both survivors and the bodies of the deceased.
