Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Badal has announced 4 new candidates. These include Harpal Juneja from Patiala, Baldev Singh Mann from Sunam, Gobind Singh Longowal from Lehragaga, and Hardev Singh Megh from Balluana. Before the announcement of assembly elections in Punjab, Akali Dal has announced 74 candidates. Akali Dal will fight on 97 seats out of 117 seats in Punjab.
