IPL 2021: BCCI to Introduce New Rule for Phase 2

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has started preparations for the second phase of the Indian Premier League 2021 to be held in UAE. Earlier 29 matches were organized in India and now the remaining 31 matches will be played in UAE. Earlier, IPL 2021 was being organized in India, but due to COVID-19 pandemic, this league had to be postponed on May 4.

Both Cricket boards have decided to allow fans to enter into the stadiums. Meanwhile, the BCCI has issued a 46-page health advisory for the matches to be held in the UAE. The board has also Introduced a new rule.  According to the news published in Inside Sports, it has been said in this advisory that, if the ball goes into the stand, it will not be used again and will be replaced by a new ball. The ball which will go to the stand will be kept in the ball library after sanitizing it thoroughly. For example, if a bowler hits a six and if that ball goes into the stand, it will not be used in that match and will be replaced by another ball.

MI to take on CSK on September 19:

On the other hand, the use of saliva will continue to be banned from the remaining season as well. If a player violates the rule he will receive a warning from the on-field umpires. BCCI does not want to take any risk with the players this time. The IPL 2021 Phase 2 will start from 19th September and will end on 15th October. MI and CSK will face each other in the first match. Meanwhile, the final game of the league stage will take place between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals on October 8.
