At the same time, so far Harish Rawat posted on Punjab Congress in-charge post has been relieved of responsibility. Harish Chaudhary is the Revenue Minister of Rajasthan and he has also been the co-in-charge of Punjab in 2017.

Rawat himself had expressed his desire to leave the post

Three days ago, Harish Rawat had also made a public appeal to the party high command on Twitter that he should be relieved from the post of in-charge of Punjab. Even before this, Harish Rawat had asked to step down from the post of Punjab in charge.

Uproar during Harish Rawat's time as Congress in-charge

It is noteworthy that there was a lot of uproar during Harish Rawat's time as Congress in-charge in Punjab. Despite the opposition of Captain Amarinder Singh in Punjab, Harish Rawat was successful in taking Navjot Singh Sidhu to the chair of the state head. Later, Captain Amarinder Singh resigned from the post of CM. After this, Charanjit Singh Channi was made CM in Punjab. However, the matter of rift between Channi and Sidhu came to the fore. In this episode, Sidhu resigned from the post of state head only after Channi took over. At the same time, Sidhu has neither withdrawn the resignation nor has the high command accepted it yet.
