There was a lot of ruckus in Bareilly, UP over the closure of meat shops in the month of Sawan. The situation became such that the police and the Rapid Action Force had to conduct a flag march.
The ruckus started when local BJP leader Ankit Bhatia of Bareilly along with the team of the Municipal Corporation came to close the meat shops, which the meat shopkeepers opposed.
CCTV footage shows some shopkeepers of Muslim society attacking the BJP leader with sharp weapons.
This incident happened in front of HDFC Bank of Prem Nagar police station area. During this, people protested against the closure of meat shops.
During this, many people surrounded and beat up Ankit Bhatia. When the ruckus increased, Hindu organizations blocked the road.
After which the police and Rapid Action Force of many police stations including SSP, and ADM City reached the spot.
In view of the tension in the area, the police also conducted a flag march.
The police have registered an FIR on the complaint of the BJP leader and have talked of action against the culprits.
Talking to the media, the police officer said, 'Meat was being sold in some shops here, about which some people had objections.
After this, there was an altercation between the two sides and some people became attackers.
After this the police came here, the crowd was separated, now further action is being taken.
The police have admitted Ankit Bhatia to the hospital and the Biryani shopkeeper who attacked BJP leader is still absconding.
