Rajasthan Election 2023: For the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly elections, the BJP has released its fourth list of candidates. In this list, Ram Nivas Meena has been nominated as the candidate for the Todabhim constituency, while Swaroop Singh Khara has been given the ticket for the Shiv constituency.

Before this, the BJP had already issued three lists, announcing a total of 182 candidates. With the release of the fourth list, the party has now announced candidates for 184 out of the total seats.

The BJP will make candidate announcements for the remaining 16 seats.

However, a dispute has arisen in the Shiv constituency of Rajasthan. BJP leader Khangar Singh Sodha, who has been demanding a ticket, posted on Facebook, urging his supporters to gather in Shiv. This indicates a potential rebellion by Khangar Singh Sodha.

Khangar Singh Sodha is considered close to former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. However, in this election, the party has chosen Swaroop Singh Khara as its candidate from Shiv.

Rajasthan Election 2023: Political History and Significance of Shiv Constituency

The Shiv constituency in western Rajasthan is known for highly competitive electoral battles. In the past, the outcome on this seat has been decided by a margin as narrow as 9 votes.

It is a constituency where candidates were sometimes hard to come by, and people were coerced into running for elections.

This constituency has not seen a party repeat its victory for the past 30 years. Since 1993, the Shiv constituency has alternated between the Congress and the BJP, with each party winning once during this period.
