At approximately 7 pm on Friday, a devastating train collision occurred involving three trains: the Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Express, Bengaluru-Howrah superfast train, and a goods train.

The sequence of events began when the Coromandel Express, in the process of crossing Bahanaga station, unexpectedly veered onto the loop line where a goods train was stationary.

The impact of the collision was so intense that the engine of the Coromandel Express climbed over the goods train.

Consequently, the bogies of the Coromandel Express toppled onto the adjacent downline.

Tragically, as the Bangalore-Howrah Express approached along that very line, it ploughed through the fallen bogie, causing further devastation.
