Odisha Train Tragedy: After the horrific rail accident in Odisha's Balasore district on Friday, the authorities promptly cleared the damaged train coaches from the primary 'trunk line' that connects eastern and southern India.

Moreover, two tracks were repaired to reinstate train services. Since the incident occurred, the Railway Minister has remained present at the scene without interruption. On Sunday, operations on one line were initiated, marking a significant step towards restoring normalcy.

"Both tracks have been successfully restored, and within a span of 51 hours, normal train movement has been reinstated," stated Ashwini Vaishnaw, affirming that the track line is now deemed safe and suitable for train operations.

After the goods train passed through the restored tracks, the Railway Minister expressed gratitude to God and addressed the people, acknowledging their outstanding efforts.

While expressing deep sorrow for the families affected by the tragic accident, he reassured them that a thorough investigation would be conducted to determine the cause. The guilty parties will be subject to the most severe punishment.

The Railway Minister extended congratulations to everyone involved in restoring operations and emphasized the importance of commencing the second line promptly.

Amidst a gathering of officials and numerous dedicated workers, Ashwini Vaishnaw shared a video clip showcasing the smooth and unimpeded movement of train on the railway lines in Balasore.

In a poignant moment, both the Railway Minister and the officials were seen bowing their heads in prayer as the train gracefully glided along the recently restored tracks.

Odisha Train Tragedy

At approximately 7 pm on Friday, a devastating train collision occurred involving three trains: the Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Express, Bengaluru-Howrah superfast train, and a goods train.

Tragically, this incident resulted in the loss of 275 lives, with over 1000 individuals sustaining injuries, according to a report published by the news agency ANI.

Regrettably, this incident is being recognized as one of India's most devastating train accidents.
