Odisha Train Accident Probe: In the ongoing investigation of the triple train accident in Odisha, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) took a significant step on Monday (June 21) by sealing the house of the Signal Junior Engineer -identified as Amir Khan from the Soro section in Balasore.

The engineer, who had been residing in a rented house in Balasore, was previously interrogated by the CBI. However, the engineer and his family are now reported missing.

Initially, the CBI had questioned the engineer at an undisclosed location during the preliminary stages of their investigation.

On Sunday (June 18), the death toll in the Balasore train accident tragically climbed to 292, as a 24-year-old passenger from West Bengal succumbed to injuries at a state-run hospital in Cuttack, according to an official report.

The devastating triple train accident earlier this month claimed the lives of 287 individuals on the spot, while an additional five victims succumbed to their injuries while receiving medical treatment in hospitals.

Additionally, the incident resulted in injuries to 1,208 individuals. The toll continues to rise, highlighting the severity of the tragedy.

On June 2, a tragic train incident occurred near Bahanaga Bazar station in India, resulting in what is now being considered one of the country's most severe train accidents. On June 6, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) assumed control of the investigation into the train accident in Balasore, Odisha.

The Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express, Bengaluru-Howrah Super Fast Express, and a goods train were involved in a devastating pile-up.
