Digvijaya Singh Lands in Legal Battle: Digvijaya Singh, a long-standing member of Congress, is facing difficulties as the Indore police have filed a case against him.

The case pertains to an alleged controversial post shared by Singh on social media concerning former Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief MS Golwalkar.

An official confirmed this development on Sunday. The case was initiated based on a complaint filed by Rajesh Joshi, a local lawyer and RSS worker.

MS Golwalkar, who served as the RSS chief for the longest duration from 1940 to 1973, held a prominent position within the organization.

Various Sections Imposed

On Saturday night, an FIR was registered against Digvijaya Singh, invoking several sections of the Indian Penal Code. These sections include 153-A, which deals with promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth or residence.

Additionally, sections 469, 500, and 505 of the IPC were invoked. These sections deal with forgery with intent to harm one's reputation, defamation and making statements causing public mischief.

The information was provided by an official from the Tukoganj police station.

Controversial Social Media Post

According to Joshi's complaint, Digvijaya Singh allegedly shared a contentious poster on social media featuring the name and image of Golwalkar, popularly known as "Guruji."

The complaint accuses Singh of intentionally provoking conflict among Dalits, backward classes, Muslims, and Hindus by sharing the post.

It further claims that Singh's post on Golwalkar hurt the religious sentiments of Sangh workers and the entire Hindu community.

A local Sangh official, in a statement, expressed that Singh's social media post regarding Golwalkar was baseless and unjustified. They believed that it was an attempt to tarnish the reputation of the organization.

On Saturday, Singh tweeted a picture of a page containing several controversial comments attributed to the former RSS leader.

The quotes attributed to Golwalkar included statements suggesting a preference for British rule over granting equal rights to Dalits, backward classes, and Muslims.

The post also mentioned other controversial remarks attributed to him.

After the post surfaced, Sunil Ambekar, a senior RSS functionary and the head of its publicity department, accused the former Madhya Pradesh chief minister of sharing a manipulated image.

Ambekar emphasized that Golwalkar's entire life was dedicated to eradicating social discrimination.
