Jharkhand: Today the country is progressing in every field, but even today, the roots of superstition have become so deep in many parts of the country that cases of torture and murders keep coming to the fore every day.
The latest case is from Jharkhand where three women were allegedly murdered on the mere suspicion of practising witchcraft.
It is worth noting that in Jharkhand alone, 590 murders have been committed in the last 20 years due to this suspicion.
Let us tell you that murder on suspicion of witchcraft is a major social evil in the state.
This sensational incident happened in Ranadih village under Sonahput police station of Ranchi. It is being told that some people suspected these three women that they practice witchcraft.
Due to this suspicion, they themsleves decided to punish them by becoming a judge and they were beaten to death with sticks, due to which all three died.
It is not yet clear whether the allegations of witchcraft against women are true or not, although the police have arrested eight people in this case.
The extent of superstition in this part of Jharkhand can be gauged from the fact that the husband and son of one of these women are also involved in the murder of women.
According to SSP Kaushal Kishor, a case has been registered against 13 people including a woman's husband and son in connection with these murders. The SSP said that eight people have been arrested so far, while the rest are being searched.
It is being told that after the death of the three women, these people threw their bodies in the hilly area near the village.
Two bodies were recovered on Sunday i.e. Sep 4, while the third body was recovered on Monday i.e. Sep 04.
Police said they have taken the husband of one of the killed women into custody for questioning as the husband's name was also included in the complaint lodged by the nephew of one of the women.
