On Wednesday, a gruesome discovery shocked the residents of east Delhi's Geeta Colony as chopped body parts of an unidentified woman were found in separate plastic bags near the area's flyover. 

The police were alerted about the incident at approximately 9:15 am and promptly arrived at the scene. Their search efforts led them to recover the head and various other body parts of the woman, each carefully placed in distinct black plastic bags near the flyover.

Recognizing the complexity and severity of the situation, law enforcement conducted a thorough search of the vicinity surrounding the flyover. To aid their investigation, they employed the assistance of a dog squad and utilized a drone in their search operation. 

It became evident to the police that the murder had likely taken place elsewhere, as they suspected the perpetrator had deliberately dismembered the victim's body before placing the parts inside the plastic bags. 

Investigation Progresses: Forensics and CCTV

The bags were subsequently discarded on the banks of the nearby Yamuna River. Understanding the significance of forensic evidence, the police promptly sent the recovered body parts for thorough examination. 

Forensic analysis would play a crucial role in establishing key details related to the crime, such as the cause of death and any potential leads that could aid in identifying the victim or the assailant. 

Consequently, a case of murder was registered by the authorities, signifying the gravity of the situation and their commitment to resolving the case.

JCP (central range) Paramaditya, a senior police official, provided insight into the ongoing investigation. He revealed that the police were actively gathering information about the unidentified woman, indicating their dedication to uncovering her identity. 

Additionally, he mentioned that the investigative team had meticulously reviewed the CCTV footage from the Geeta Colony flyover area, potentially providing crucial clues and leads that could aid in solving the crime.
