According to Since Independence's recent report, the championship was kick-started on March 4 with a match involving hosts New Zealand Women and West Indies Women at Mount Maunganui's Bay Oval Stadium. In their debut match, India Women will face Pakistan Women on March 6 (Sunday) at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui. The game will take place on March 6, 2022, at the Bay Oval Stadium.

So far, the main event has been one-sided, with Pakistan unable to win a Women's One-Day International versus its neighbor. The head-to-head (H2H) ratio is strongly biased in India's favor, with a 10:0 advantage.

In the Women’s Asia Cup in Karachi in 2005, India and Pakistan women met for the first time.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, India's Women in Blue rode Jaya Sharma's unbroken 138 off 150 balls and Anjum Chopra's 86 not out off 112 balls to reach 289/2 in their allotted 50 overs.

Pakistan was bowled out for 96 in response, giving the visitors a stunning 193-run win.

Since then, India has destroyed Pakistan in the 50-over format, winning all ten of their matches against them.

The India eves have won nine of the 11 T20 matches that they have played so far in India against Pakistan women head-to-head record. Only two victories have been achieved by Pakistani women.

Meanwhile, neither team has played a Test match.

India women have defeated Pakistan women twice in the 50-over Women's World Cup, winning both times.

In the T20 World Cup, Indian women have a better head-to-head record over Pakistan women, having won four of the six matches thus far.
