Bangla Tigers had a winless Asia Cup 2022 tournament, which was played in the shortest format and they also failed to earn any points during the T20I Tri-Series.

Pakistan and New Zealand also played this series and the men in green team won the final by five wickets.

The star all-rounder and experienced player Shakib Al Hasan has been brought back as a captain for the Bangladeshi team. But his return hasn’t worked for them.

In the Asia Cup 2022 event, they lost against Afghanistan and the Asia Cup winner, Sri Lanka. Bangladesh also lost two matches each against Pakistan and New Zealand in the Tri-Series which was played as a build-up for the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. If they continue like this, it will be a difficult road ahead for them.

Bangladesh hasn’t found an ideal replacement for Tamim Iqbal

Bangladesh hasn’t found an ideal replacement for Tamim Iqbal and they are searching for a quality opening batter since his retirement. So, they decided to experiment with the Tri-Series and went with four different opening combinations.

But before this, they have tried out 16 different opening batters and none of them had worked for them till now.

Bangladesh is not worried about the experiments. In the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, they will select a team with pure class and quality players

The team management is quite clear about the team’s combination and they aren’t too concerned about that because they will put the best team on the cricket field.

Tough road ahead for Bangladesh

Bangla Tigers will be playing against the top T20I sides in the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. They will be facing men in blue on 2nd November 2022 at Adelaide Oval, South Africa at Sydney Cricket Ground on 27th October 2022 and Pakistan at Adelaide Oval on November 6th 2022. Bangla Tigers will have to win all these games to qualify for the semi-finals.

To come out of this situation, Bangla Tigers need to express themselves and should not worry about the results. Skipper Shakib Al Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, Litton Das, Mehidy Hasan and Afif Hossain will hold the key to success for the Bangladeshi team during the T20 WC.

Another thing is that they should stick to one combination instead of experimenting too much with the players.
