South Africa Vs India: India has taken a 1-0 lead in the three match series of the ODI format. the men in blue side under the leadership of KL Rahul gave a spectacular performance in Johannesburg.
Arshdeep Singh was the star with the ball. He picked five wickets which helped the visitors to bundle out the host for just 116 runs in 27.3 overs.
India chased down that score quite comfortably in the end. Shreyas Iyer and Sai Surdarsan slammed half-centuries that was enough for the men in blue side to win the game.
India won the first one-day international match by eight wickets and 200 balls to spare. That is the second biggest defeat for South Africa in terms of ball remaining.
Now to level the series to one all, the home side will have to bat really well in the second game of this three-match series. The senior players like Miller, Markram, Dussen and Klaasen will have to bat with more responsibility otherwise they will lose this series that too against this second-string Indian team.
The bowlers were not disciplined when they were asked to defend a score of just 117 runs. They need to do their job perfectly in the next game that will be played tomorrow.
The Proteas bowlers conceded to many runs and they never looked like they would get a wicket. South Africa doesn’t need to change their playing XI. But they should change their way of playing.
India on the other hand will be thrilled to start the one-day international series with a thumping win over the hosts. Now KL and his men will want to seal the series with one match still to be played.
India will not change their winning combination for the next match despite many players are still waiting for their chances.
