But sadly, India and Pakistan haven’t competed against each other in the traditional format yet.

Like always, India and Pakistan are placed in the same group of the ODI Asia Cup 2023. These two arch-rival teams are in Group One of the 16th edition of the Asia Cup with one qualifying team.

In group two, there are other three Asian sides Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. The ODI Asia Cup 2023 will be a six-team tournament.

According to the reports the ODI Asia Cup 2023 will start in September 2023. The ACC (Asian Cricket Council) is yet to announce the host country and the full-fleshed fixtures.

So before we know all the details of the next ODI Asia Cup 2023, today we shall know about the four best performers from the Indian Cricket Team in the Asia Cup 2022, which was played in the shortest format.

1. Virat Kohli

The King had a good edition of the Asia Cup in the shortest format. Kohli went on a break before the start of the Asia Cup 2022 edition. Virat was the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament.

He had amassed 276 runs in five matches and that many innings. VK also slammed a century in the previous edition. The wait for Kohli’s 71st ton was over after he played an unbelievable knock of unbeaten 122 runs against Afghanistan.

The former Indian skipper became the only Indian batter to smash a century in the Asia Cup T20 tournament. His average was 92 and it was the best in the 2022 edition.

The Indian speed star, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, was the highest wicket-taker in the Asia Cup 2022 edition.

India missed the services of Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel in the previous tournament. Kumar had taken one four-wicket and five-wicket haul.

He has picked up eleven wickets to his name from just five matches and five innings. Bhuvi had the second-best bowling average of 10.45 and registered the best bowling figures in the Asia Cup 2022 edition.

Bhuvneshwar picked up five wickets and gave away just four runs in the match against Afghanistan. His strike rate was also the second-best in this edition. Bhuvi had a strike rate of 10.36.

3. Rohit Sharma

The Indian skipper had led the team from the front when the Lankan Tigers asked them to bat first in their do-or-die match. Rohit Sharma stood like a pillar and scored a vital 72 runs.

But due to the failure of the other Indian batters like Virat, Suryakumar, Pant, and Hooda, Team India couldn’t get more runs on the board.

Hit Man scored a valuable 72 runs, which came when the team needed it the most. Rohit Sharma had a strike of 175.61 in this innings, and he took just 41 deliveries to score that many runs in more challenging conditions.

Rohit Sharma scored 133 runs in four matches and four innings of the Asia Cup 2022 edition.

4. Arshdeep Singh

In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel, India needed Bhuvneshwar Kumar to deliver in the last over of the Asia Cup 2022.

But Bhuvi failed to deliver in the final overs, and Arshdeep was given the responsibility, which he carried out well.

But India lost the matches because the batters didn't score enough runs on the board.

In the super four-round matches against Pakistan and Sri Lanka, Singh delivered perfect 20th over despite having just seven runs to defend.

He had impressed with the skills he showed in death overpressure situations. Many believed that Arshdeep has a similar quality to Boom Boom Bumrah while bowling in the final few overs.
