GT Vs MI Qualifier 2: Team’s Preview

The defending champions, Gujarat Titans will has one more chance to reach the finals of the TATA IPL 2023 season despite their loss to Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday.

The Titans were good with the ball in that match. But as the successful chasing team, GT didn’t muster the score of 173 and fell 15 runs short of that target.

Their batting needs to fire against Mumbai Indians this time around. Apart from Shubman Gill, none of their batters are in good nick, which is a worrying sign for them ahead of this must-win match.

What GT can do is they should drop Dasun Shanaka from their playing XI and include Alazzari Joseph which could strengthen their bowling lineup even more. They can also pick Sai Sudharsan in their playing XI which could strengthen their batting.

However, they need runs from Wriddhiman Saha, David Miller, Skipper Hardik Pandya and Rahul Tewatita. Miller and Tewatia had a good IPL 2022 season.

But they haven’t repeated their magic in the current ongoing season and that is the reason why GT has struggled in the middle phase of an innings.

Rashid Khan has stepped up as a batter this season. Still, his bowling hasn’t been that impressive and he has leaked runs as well.

Talking about the Mumbai Indians side, they are high on confidence after their wins against SRH and LSG. The batting still needs to come good.

But their bowlers are in great nick especially, Akash Madhwal, who picked up a five-wicket haul yesterday.

The other MI players like Cameron Green, Nehal Wadhera and Tim David have had decent a job till now. But still, MI needs a solid opening partnership to post a challenging score against this GT side.

The inclusion of Chris Jordan and Jason Behrendroff has been too good for them. The MI side was too reliant on Jasprit Bumrah last year and that’s why they finished last on the points table in TATA IPL 2022 and now finally they have found an ideal playing combination that could take them to the finals of this season.

GT Vs MI Qualifier 2: Pitch Report

The pitch report of Shri Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad says that it is a batting-friendly surface and there is some assistance for the new ball bowlers.

The team who will chase on this ground have won more matches this season. So the team who wins the toss should opt to bowl first in this crucial game.
