England Tour of India 2024: The five-match red ball series between England and India will begin in January 2024. England’s new and attacking approach of Bazball in Test Cricket will be tested by the quality Indian spin bowlers.
India will certainly go with three spinners, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin.
The home side of that series, India can also add Kuldeep Yadav in their squad for that series of the traditional format. But England has a shortage of spin bowlers.
Moen Ali will not come out of retirement again like he did in the Ashes Test series 2023 against the Aussies and Jack Leach is still on his way to recover from his back injury.
Liam Dawson Might Not Be Available For Five Test Match Series Versus The Men In Blue Side
Despite being short of spin bowlers on the tour of India, the left-arm spin bowler from England, Liam Dawson is planning not to play for England in the upcoming series against the men in blue side and he is almost certain to participate in the T20 franchise tournament like the SA20 League.
This five-match Test series between IND Vs ENG will be part of the new cycle of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 to 2025.
India has reached two finals in a row while England hasn’t made it to the final round even once till now. This series will start from 25th January 2024 in Hyderabad.
Liam Dawson is in contention of being selected for this England tour of India 2024 despite playing just three red ball games for his country.
In the SA20 franchise league tournament, Dawson plays for Sunrisers Eastern Cape and his value in terms of money is more than he plays for England in all five red ball games against India.
Dawson is a left-arm spin bowler of his team. He said that playing for England isn’t the best choice always and one should go for the opportunities which are there in the franchise cricket tournaments worldwide.
Liam made his debut in red ball format against India in 2016 and his last Test match was in 2017.
