BCCI Central Contract List: Ravindra Jadeja has been a stellar performer for the men in blue side in all three formats of the game.
Jaduu will also be a key member and likely the only spin-bowling all-rounder who will take part in the final of the World Test Championship as well.
That one off red ball match will be played at The Oval from 7th June 2023 to 11th June 2023 and 12th June 2023 has been kept as the reserve day.
Ravindra Jadeja has made a strong comeback in the red ball format series of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023, which India won by a margin of 2-1 against Australia.
Before this BGT series, Jaddu was out of action. But the way he made a comeback as an all-rounder was simply incredible. In the recently announced list, Jadeja has been promoted to A+ Grade.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India, BCCI, has announced the central contract list where Jaddu climbs up the ladder and now he has been featured in the list of highest-paid Indian cricket players.
Jaddu also joined the elite list where the current skipper Rohit Sharma, the King, Virat Kohli, and star pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah are already present. Jadeja will also earn a salary of 7 crores annually.
After the spin bowling all-rounder gets a grade A+, the pace bowling all-rounder and the current T20I captain of the men in blue side, Hardik Pandya has also been promoted to A Grade in the recently announced list of the central contract. Pandya has been a brilliant T20I skipper of the Indian Team so far.
Pandya won his maiden IPL title last year for the Gujarat Titans, then he was also appointed as the skipper of the team in the shortest format after India went down in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.
Since then Pandya has not lost any series of the shortest format. Hardik is also the vice-captain of the fifty overs format and he won his first ODI match as a captain in Mumbai. That was the only match which India won in that series.
Now Hardik will join the Grade A list of players who earns a 5 Crore annual salary. Hardik was dropped to C Grade last year and that was mainly because of his fitness issues.
But since then his return has been effective and India should consider him for the WTC Final 2023 because of his all-around abilities.
Alongside Hardik Pandya, the list of Grade A includes Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel.
The Prince, Shubman Gill has been phenomenal for India in all three formats. Gill has scored a double Century in ODI Cricket and also a T20I Ton in the shortest format.
He has also slammed a Test ton as well. Shubman is the first-choice opening batter for the men in blue side in all three formats.
He has climbed up to the Grade B spot in the latest list of the central contract.
While Suryakumar Yadav has been a one-man show in the T20 International format for the men in blue side.
He has scored 3 T20I Centuries in such a short span and that’s why SKY (Suryakumar Yadav) is the vice-captain of the Indian Team in the shortest format. Gill and SKY will climb up to B grade and both will earn a salary of 3 crores annually.
The Test specialist batter, Cheteshwar Pujara has retained his spot to B. The number three batter of the red ball format was instrumental when India beat Australia in the Test series of 2019 and 2021.
Pujara also played decently in the BGT series. The Grade B of the central contract list includes the names of Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Siraj, KL Rahul, Chesteshwar Pujara, Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill.
The last grade of this central contract list is C and the BCCI has awarded Arshdeep Singh and KS Bharat their maiden contract from the Indian Cricket Board.
Arshdeep Singh has been impressive in the white ball format and the conditions in England will suit his kind of bowling. So India can consider another player like Arshdeep for that one off Test match.
KS Bharat, the wicket-keeper batter made his Test debut in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023 against The Aussies. He came in the place of the injured Rishabh Pant and has been included in the C grade of the central contract list.
Kuldeep Yadav has been retained to C. While the senior members of the men in blue side haven’t been included in any of the grades this year. Rahane, Bhuvi and Ishant have lost their place in the team and this list as well.
The players who are in the category of Grade C will earn One Crore each year. The names of those players are - Umesh Yadav, Shikhar Dhawan, Shardul Thakur, Ishan Kishan, Deepak Hooda, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar, Sanju Samson, Arshdeep Singh and KS Bharat.
